Pursuant to order dated 31st August, 2020, the Regulatory Compliance Division of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India directs the designated officers to refrain from insisting on submission of additional documents beyond the list issued by the FSSAI.
However in case of an additional document requirement for grant of a FSSAI license, the same shall be communicated to public through a public order issued by a Competent Authority.
It was also decided to initiate consultation regarding the requirement of NOC from Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) as a precondition for FSSAI licensing as it is not uniform across the country and it has invited comments on the same.
